Przełomowe technologie w telefonach komórkowych

Dziś prawie każdy korzysta z telefonu komórkowego. Nie wyobrażamy sobie życia bez Internetu, wbudowanej kamery, możliwości przechowywania plików i odtwarzania multimediów. Nie zawsze jednak te funkcje były standardem. Sprawdźmy, które elementy wyposażenia smartfona okazały się strzałem w dziesiątkę i do dziś stanowią standard we wszystkich sprzedawanych modelach.

Obsługa wiadomości

Częstym sposobem komunikacji jest obecnie korzystanie z różnych aplikacji, jak Messenger, WhatsUp i podobne. Większość z młodocianych użytkowników telefonów zapewne nie wie, że pierwsze telefony komórkowe nie posiadały nawet możliwości wysłania SMS-a. Ba! Niektóre z nich nie posiadały nawet ekranu.

Wprowadzenie możliwości wysyłania SMS-ów było przełomowe. W ten sposób mogliśmy zostawić odbiorcy wiadomość tekstową, którą mógł odczytać w dowolnym momencie i wielokrotnie. Pozwalało to na przekazywanie ważnych informacji, których odtąd nie trzeba było zapisywać w notesie, czy na kartce.

Wiadomości tekstowe były w późniejszym czasie uzupełnione o możliwość przesłania prostej, czarno-białej grafiki. Format EMS nie był jednak tak popularny, jak wprowadzony wraz z podłączeniem do sieci Internet nowszy standard – MMS, który stosowany jest do dziś.

Internet

Korzystanie z sieci komórkowej GSM dawało jedynie możliwość rozmowy głosowej i wysyłania wiadomości tekstowych – SMS-ów. Dopiero po wdrożeniu nowszych technologii, jak EDGE, HSPA, 3G, LTE, pozwoliło na prawdziwą eksplozję nowych możliwości. Już korzystanie z WAP-u (był to Internet w stylu znanej z TV telegazety) było przełomowe – dawało możliwość sprawdzenia news-ów, prognozy pogody, czy pobranie prostych grafik i aplikacji. Późniejszy rozwój Internetu, a także popularyzacja powszechnego dostępu do bezpłatnych sieci Wi-Fi, doprowadziły telefony komórkowe do miejsca, w którym jesteśmy teraz.

Aparat fotograficzny.

Kilkanaście lat temu wiele osób posiadało różnego rodzaju aparaty fotograficzne, które były niezbędne do wykonania zdjęcia. Niektóre pracowały w dość starej technologii, wykorzystującej klisze, inne były aparatami cyfrowymi, dającymi możliwość zapisania zdjęć na komputerze. Dziś większość z nas nie widzi takiej potrzeby – aparat fotograficzny jako oddzielne urządzenie stosowany jest prawie wyłącznie przez profesjonalistów, a większość „zwykłych” użytkowników używa kamery wbudowanej w smartfon.

Pierwsze kamery były zewnętrznymi urządzeniami podłączane do konkretnego modelu telefonu komórkowego przez port ładowania/przesyłania plików. Później, już wbudowane w samą obudowę komórki, aparaty stawały się coraz lepsze, oferując coraz wyższą rozdzielczość, lepszą optykę, tym samym dając lepsze efekty w postaci zdjęć.

Nie byłoby jednak możliwości dołączenia możliwości robienia zdjęć i filmów do wyposażenia telefonów komórkowych, gdyby nie kolorowe, duże wyświetlacze.

Kolorowy, dotykowy ekran

Pierwsze telefony komórkowe niewiele różniły się z wyglądu od stacjonarnych. Wprowadzone dwukolorowe ekrany znacznie ułatwiły ich obsługę, jednak dopiero kolorowe ekrany zwiastowały nadchodzącą rewolucję w kieszonkowych multimediach.

Strzałem w dziesiątkę okazało się zastosowanie ekranów dotykowych, przez co obudowa telefonu nie musiała już zawierać klawiatury.
